Myanmar Tour Guide > About Me About Me
In the year
1968, I was born in Prome (Pyay),
a little town which is located as a gateway between
Yangon and Bagan. I spent most of my early days in Prome till 1987. In 1987 I passed high school final and joined the University of Yangon specializing the subject in 'International Relations'. Graduated B.A (IR) degree in 1994, I became a hotel reservation clerk at Summit Park View hotel in Yangon.Fed up with paper work and limited range of responsibility, I changed my career as a tour guide in order to seek more challenge and broader scope of knowledge for my life. I have attended tour guide training course in 1995 sponsored by Ministry of Hotel and Tourism (MHT). Hence I became a licensed tour guide in 1995. First of all, I worked for Emperor Travels and Tours as a permanent tour guide for three years. After three-year-service, I made up my mind to choose an independent life as a freelance tour guide. Since that time, I have been doing this tour guide profession as a freelancer for several famous tour agencies (i.e Gracious Myanmar Travel, Orchrestra Tour, Journeys Nature and Exploration, Honey World Tour etc.) I have been to most of the major tour sites in Myanmar with my clients, Besides, I have also been to most remote and restricted areas like Mogoke Ruby Mine, Pharkhant Jade Mine, Namtu and Bawdwin silver mines, Ramree Island in Arakan, Myitkyina, Bahmo, Mogaung in Kachin State, Tarcheleik and Kyaing Tong near golden triangle, Kale, Kalewa, Mawleik on the River Chindwin, Kipling's Pagoda in Maulmein and many more. Even I don't specialize in specific type of tour, I am well- experienced guide especially in World War II pilgrimage tour and Steam Rail Tour. Most of my clients are from England, U.S Canada and Australia but I also have clients from other non-English speaking countries. According to my range of conductiong group tour, I have already led my group of clients from one up to twenty four.
Grammar School in Prome. I hope my language skill, my extent of knowledge and my tour experience will meet your need and satisfaction. I almost forget to tell you that I am married. I married in 1996 just to welcome and coincide with the big event called "Visit Myanmar Year 1996". My wife, Kyu, was a primary school teacher from my native town, Prome. Now, she has no chance to continue her job but to look after our very naughty sons; Zwe (8 years) and Pyay (2½ years). Besides, she always gives hands to my touring business. She is very kind, patient and helpful to me. Why do I need to hire a secretary since she becomes my personal assistant and business adviser?
